Sick

Poor Gustav has been having a bad weekend. Yesterday morning he seemed a little warm but otherwise okay. He had been really clingy for the past few days and we figured it was just the teething. We had to run a lot of errands, including taking Chloe for a checkup.

At around 4pm, Gabe took his axillary temperature and it was about 103 degrees. We then took a rectal reading and it was the same thing. Gabe texted Zaza, who told us to alternate Tylenol and Motrin and give him lots of fluids. She also told us not to go to the ER.

We then called his pediatrician's office and got a call shortly after from a nurse. We told her how we had been to the pediatrician on Monday and that he was on Amoxicillin for an ear infection. However, she felt that the antibiotics probably weren't working because he had been tugging on his ear in the past couple of days. She told us that she'll have a pediatrician call us back.

When Dr. Cox called, he said that he'll be in the office on Sunday morning seeing patients and to bring Gustav in if he weren't feeling better. So this morning he was still hot and his axillary temperature was 102 degrees. We gave him some Motrin and took him in to see Dr. Cox, who gave us a stronger prescription for antibiotics.

He is still running a fever but we are trying to make him feel better. Below is a (horrible) picture of me with 4 of my faves: Gustav, Chloe, Entertainment Weekly, and a bowl of noodles.
