I really want to teach our kids about money at an early age since I never learned and Gabe never had any growing up. Now that Gustav is 5 years old, we are going to start giving him an allowance. He will receive $3 every week and a dollar each will be allocated for 1. saving, 2. spending, and 3. giving away. Once he understands this concept, we will increase it to his age (ie, $5).
We have lots of little change purses and banks in the house so we labeled each one. He promptly told me that for his $1 to give away, he wants to give it to Ms. Kelly.
