18 years old and 244k Miles. My uncle bought it new in 2000 for about $28k, and he gave it to us in 2013 when he moved to Thailand.
Gabe and I both felt like it was on its last legs despite us spending over $2k for repairs last September, and we were independently worried about Gabe driving it up to Gainesville for the film festival. Sure enough at 11pm on Sunday, he called to say that the car died. He was on the highway and luckily was able to drive it to the shoulder. A Good Samaritan gave him a charge but it didn’t last.
We got it towed to the garage the next day and they told us $1600. They also gently said it was probably time to say goodbye.
So we said goodbye on the same day that Gustav said goodbye to BVE.
